VerbonZone Rocket Scooter notes (DD / TV bands + volume pivots) Source: FuturesTradingWithMatt stream notes 2026-09-03. Supplement for chart watch / Grok. Not a full rocket-scooter.txt yet. Log separately from Scalp. Alert only. Verbon places the trade. DD / TV bands (as taught on stream) - About 96% of days close below the top DD / TV band. That is a close statistic, not a "96% of breaks fail" statistic. - Upside breaks of the DD band are rare (~4% of days). Most of those breaks HOLD. Do not short a clean upside break of the DD band just because of the 96% close-below number. - When an upside break later closes back below, price often hangs near the band rather than collapsing. You never know how high it goes first. - Lower DD band behaves differently: roughly 8% of days close below it, but many more days can break it (often ~20-30%) and most return. Downside bands usually do not hover; when volatility dies they get away from the band. - Practical bias from that asymmetry: - Downside: look to long back in (mean-revert from the lower band when confluence agrees). - Upside: do not short back in at the upper band just because it tagged/broke. - With R positive and little selling pressure, fading / shorting the upside is a fool's errand. Continuation patterns alone - Bull flags, cups, heads-and-shoulders, double bottoms, "gap didn't fill so breakout" style ideas do not carry edge by themselves. They fail as often as they work. - Most days are chop. Clean breakouts and selloffs are rare. Do not treat a textbook pattern as a setup without volume-pivot / options confluence. What they actually use - Volume pivots from options math (high-volume levels calculated ahead of the open). Expect volume when price touches those pivots (dealer / options risk adjustment). - Confluence from underlying order flow / index components (stocks in the index) for strength of the move. - Example read: rally to green while components keep moving with no fear = do not short there. If a leader finally pulls back hard (e.g. near zero on the session) that can mark an exhaustion / first peak zone to watch — still prefer longing a good pullback if structure stays bullish, not shorting the high. - Blue / color-coded lines on the Rocket Scooter tools are tied to that options / gamma framing. If the majority of market-cap weeklies are gamma-positive (described as above zero), that supports why an index may bounce with component blue lines rather than freely breaking them. How chart watch should use this - Prefer with-trend joins into marked Rocket / volume-pivot / DD structure over fadess of an upside DD-band break. - Do not invent levels that are not on the chart or in a VerbonZone .txt. - Stay quiet when the chart is chop with no marked join. Grade only actionable A+/A/B+ style joins when a written strategy (Scalp or Rocket Scooter) also fits. - Never place the trade. Open hole - Full /rocket-scooter.txt playbook still missing on VerbonZone. This file is interim stream notes until that exists.
